For 68 years, Sorbonne Dental has been committed to bringing Salt Lake City “Uncompromising care and Exquisite Dentistry.”

During his 50 year practice, Robert Lynn Sorbonne was renowned for his precision and delicacy. Directly after graduation from USC’s esteemed dental program, Dr. Sorbonne was honored with a professorship. Dr. Sorbonne then served as a Naval Dentist during WWII, during which time he helped spearhead the use of anesthesia for general dentistry. Dr. Sorbonne founded Sorbonne Dental in 1945 at the historic Walker Building in Salt Lake City. In 1960, he designed the current location on Foothill Boulevard. After years of meticulous work, Dr. Robert Sorbonne retired in 1995.

His son, Dr. Ralph Lee Sorbonne graduated from Washington State’s celebrated dental program in 1989. During his years of study, he worked extensively on some of the first efforts to chart the human skull in 3D.  Dr. Ralph Lee Sorbonne then returned to Salt Lake City to join his father’s lauded practice. The two worked side-by-side for 15 years until Dr. Sorbonne senior retired.

Dr. Ralph Sorbonne acquired his father’s attention to detail and love of his clientele. Additionally, Dr. Ralph Sorbonne is passionate about infusing his office with state-of-the-art technology to cut down on patient discomfort. He is dedicated to using only the least invasive techniques and the most advanced materials available. Foremost, Dr. Ralph Sorbonne is committed to listening to your needs and concerns. He firmly believes that the best care is the one in which the patient is both informed and involved the process.
